This Labour TENS machine offers maximum pain relief during childbirth. It boasts a large display, pre-set modes and most importantly the “Boost Button”. In fact it is because of its effectiveness, simplicity and no-fuss that Elle TENS is one of the worlds most popular choice for mums-to-be.
Elle TENS is a safe, effective, drug-free method of pain relief, which still allows you to use other analgesics, such as pethidine or gas-and-air if you wish.
What is Opti-Max? Optimax Technology gives an extra reserve of power for when you really need it. Used for the final stages of labour when you need extra pulse power or any time depending on your preference. Opti-Max is available with both of the Elle TENS and Elle TENS+ machines.
Included in your Elle TENS Hire:
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. TENS produces electrical signals to stimulate nerves via self-adhesive pads. This releases endorphins, and disrupts the pain signal to the brain, effectively reducing the pain sensation.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) works by passing mild electrical impulses through the skin, via electrode pads, into the nerve fibres which lie below. The TENS impulses help your body produce its own pain killing chemicals, such as ‘endorphins’. Our Obstetric TENS have a BOOST Button feature to be used during contractions.
The level of pain relief obtained varies from person to person. Some find that using TENS during childbirth provides all the pain relief required during the whole of labour, whereas others find that other analgesics are also required. A Swedish study showed that TENS was the only pain killer required by 70% of women in labour.
Your hire is for 8 weeks and we suggest that your TENS be booked for you to be with you when you’re 37 weeks pregnant.
