Here's a genuine review by GW of Sutherland of the Fisher Price Rock N Play: Admittedly, when I first picked it up the Rock 'n' Play, I really didn't think we'd have any use for it, as we have a bouncer and a swing that my 4 month old daughter doesn't enjoy very much. Now, I wonder how we ever did without it! Its structured hammock style made it super comfortable for her to sleep in, and it certainly looks cosy and secure. The mesh fabric on the sides made it comfortable for her even on the hot days we've had recently. The large buttons on the ends allow the Rock 'n' Play legs to be locked in the "open" and "closed" positions. I think what I loved most about it was the versatility; not only was she happy to sleep in it anywhere in the house - saving me from running up and down the stairs all day - but she was also happy to just lay in it, playing with what ever toy she was loving that day. This left us with no need for a bouncer, rocker or an extra bassinet downstairs. It folds up nice and flat making it easy to take in the car or slip beside the couch to help keep the house in order. For us, the height is what made it ideal. The baby sits about a meter from the floor making it the perfect height to sit her in next to us at the dining table, or play with from the couch. The gentle curve of the feet made it super easy to rock with my foot while I was doing other things! Another bonus with the height is that it keeps her out of reach of small animals. Previously when visiting my mother in law, I was always on edge watching that the dog was not licking her hands or face, but with the Rock 'n' Play, she was out of reach of the dog which gave me wonderful peace of mind! For us, it has made a wonderful substitution for a portacot, as it is so much easier to get her in and out of, and she slept comfortably in it for hours on end. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone with a young baby.
